Unless you have lived somewhere else than the planet earth this past week, you probably know that Ariana Grande withdrew from her Grammy's version at the last minute.
According to the Grammy producers, Ariana would not run her new single "7 Rings" unless it was part of a medley. She then tweeted to say that her "creativity and self-expression" was "oppressed", so she chose to completely abandon both the execution and the participation in the prize-giving ceremony.
When the awarding ceremony took place, Ariana shared a series of photographs of herself in the custom-made Zac Posen gown she would have worn if she had been present.
But fans of eagle eyes could not help making a comparison between Ariana & # 39; s dress and that of Disney Princess, Cinderella.
And fans have taken the likeness as a nod to her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, whose song "Cinderella" was written during their relationship with Ariana.
People were immediately emotional about the connection.
Ariana's choice of clothing was even more poignant, as several songs from her brand-new album, Thank You, Next, also seem to refer to the Mac.
In fact, one song, "Ghostin," seems to refer directly to the text of "Cinderella". In "Ghostin" Ariana sings: "He just comes to visit me when I dream," while "Cinderella" contains the sentence: "You in my dreams, that's why I sleep all the time."
But the most touching tribute to Mac was that at the end of the night Ariana shared this video of himself while he hugged his dog, Myron, as she fell asleep.
