Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed weekend at Crobar Nightclub in 2005. I designed a hoist system that could move in 4 directions: up/down and forward/back. A glass elevator was constructed and I rode it around all weekend dressed as the Johnny Depp Willy Wonka, which had just been released. The entire club had areas devoted to scenes from the movie and were a hybrid of the original and newly released film aesthetics. The Mike TeeVee effect is a sort of hologram effect which creates the illusion of animated figures interacting with physical settings.
