Water for Elephants – Behnam Nateghi Report (4-21-2011)

Resse Witherspoon owns this movie as an elegant young woman, torn between the love and debt for her husband, circus ringmaster, played by Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, who has made her into a star in the 1931 Benzini Brothers’ three-ring circus, and the bereaved former Cornell student Jacob, played broodingly by Robert Pattinson, who is particularly good to a white elephant. US critics complain that hardly any sparks fly in the supposed love affair between the former vampire star and Ms. Witherspoon’s character. As VOA Persian TV’s Behnam Nateghi reports, the movie should satisfy fans of the 2006 bestseller by Canadian/American writer and animal lover Sara Gruin.
