Angelina Jolie’s godmother Jacqueline Bisset at BAFTA bash

Acting veteran Jacqueline Bisset looked lovely at the BAFTA Los Angeles and BBC America’s annual tea party in Beverly Hills on Saturday.

The Golden Globe winner – who turned 73 on Wednesday – dressed her evergreen 5ft6in figure in a black dress featuring corseted midi-sleeves and white piping with white-toed pumps and a tan purse.

These days, the Weybridge-born Brit is perhaps best known as the godmother of Oscar winner Angelina Jolie, whose late mother Marcheline Bertrand was a close friend.

‘Unfortunately I haven’t developed a close relationship with Angelina, I see her rarely but I’m very admiring of her,’ Jacqueline (born Winifred) admitted on ITV’s Loose Women in 2015.

‘What I find difficult is she’s become so famous. So many people are pulling on her time, I’m a little bit shy and I don’t want to be someone who tries to take advantage of her.’

Bisset continued: ‘Occasionally people say to me, “Oh you know Angelina Jolie” and I say, “No, she needs her space and she needs to do her number” but she’s pretty remarkable.’

The former Bond girl even had a role as Brad Pitt’s boss in the 2005 spy comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but it was left on the cutting room floor.
