He embarked on his professional radio career in February of 1991 at KONP-AM in Port Angeles, Washington, where he assumed the roles of news director (managing a staff of one, himself) and host of the morning news program.
In 1993, Haselton transitioned to KIRO-AM, the CBS affiliate in Seattle, where he spent nearly seven years as an editor, reporter, and anchor. He joined WTOP as a reporter and anchor, where he has remained since, aside from a brief return to Seattle in 2005. In 2007, Haselton expanded his responsibilities to include news readers on “The Tony Kornheiser Show” on Talk Radio 3WT. His accolades include two-time recipient of the national Edward R. Murrow Award and winner of the National Headliner Grand Award for broadcast journalism excellence.
