She revealed to business insider that it depends on what your goals are. When wanting to lose weight, she says it’s 80% exercise and 20% diet. She told Business Insider, “that you can’t ‘starve the weight off’ because that will shut your metabolism down.”

You may even recognize her from one of her largest appearance on television, NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” So, what has all of this hard work and dedication done for Jillian Michaels’ net worth?

Profession: Fitness Superstar
Age: 43
Source Of Wealth: Health & Wellness Career
Residence: Hollywood Hills
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
Marital Status: Engaged; Heidi Rhoades

About Jillian Michaels

Michaels was born on February 18, 1974, in Los Angeles. She was raised in the Santa Monica area but didn’t always have an easy childhood. Her parents divorced when she was young and she was a victim of bullying much of her adolescence. Over time, however, Michaels was able to gain confidence and became the powerhouse she is today.

She studied at California State University. While in school, she took on two jobs as a bartender and personal trainer. Later, she also became an agent for an L.A. talent agency. And, in 2002, Michaels opened Sky Sport and Spa (Beverly Hills), a sports and medical facility, which she later sold to make room for her career in the spotlight.

Jillian Michaels’ Career

Since 1993, Jillian has held two personal training certificates from the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association and The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She is also certified in Kettle-bell Concepts. She also holds a number of health and wellness certificates and has even developed her own program for continuing education for trainers.

Her background in fitness led to many of the rest of her other business ventures. She has developed online workout video series as well as DVD series. Jillian has also authored several health and wellness novels, two of which have appeared on the New York Times Bestseller list. She also worked with video game creators to launch four interactive video games for Wii and Xbox 360.

In the mid-2000s, Jillian became well known for her part on “The Biggest Loser.” She served as a trainer on the show for two seasons before departing. From 2006 to 2008 she served as a trainer on the Australian version of the show before returning as a trainer in the U.S. Biggest Loser competition in 2007. She went on to depart from the show in 2010 to return in 2011 and depart once again in 2014.

During her time on-and-off “The Biggest Loser” Jillian also focused on many of her own shows and ventures as well, including “Losing It With Jillian,” a Biggest Loser spin-off. She was also a member of the panel on CBS’ daytime television show “The Doctors.”

There is no doubt that Michaels has had a wildly successful fitness career, but what is Jillian Michaels’ net worth?

Jillian Michaels’ Net Worth

Jillian Michaels' net worthIt is estimated that Jillian Michaels’ net worth sits around $14 million. Of course, much of her success came from the career moves mentioned above. Michaels was paid well working on “The Biggest Loser” and she has also been able to increase her overall wealth from her workout videos, book sales, and other ventures as well.

Michaels makes millions of dollars every year through her various business ventures and endorsements. In 2008, for instance, she earned $52 million from the domestic sale of her workout video “30 Day Shred.” She also earned a fair amount of cash from endorsing Detox & Cleanse over the year and performing the duties of a trainer on the Australian Biggest Loser.

Her overall wealth estimate also includes the sale of her books: “Master Your Metabolism,” “Making the Cut,” “Slim for Life” and “Unlimited.” Both “Master Your Metabolism” and “Unlimited” landed on the NYT Bestseller’s list.

Of course, Jillian’s wealth also includes the income she’s raking in from her workout videos. The sale of her video “30 Day Shred” was mentioned above. However, Michaels also has a YouTube channel she is capitalizing on. With about 14K subscribers, Michaels is able to pull in a bit of extra cash from the streaming site as well. (See: How Much Do YouTubers Make?)

Jillian Michaels’ net worth also includes the value of her $6.6 million home in Malibu (which she later sold for $8.8 million). She later moved to a house in the Hollywood Hills, which is valued at $1.56 million. Each of these things, in addition to her income, has led to her $14 million net worth.

Moving forward, Jillian intends to continue her workout videos on YouTube and generating new, helpful information for her followers. With a work ethic like hers, one thing is for sure: her wealth isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

SodaStream International Ltd.SODA has been benefiting from the growing popularity of sparkling water with the shift in consumer preference toward healthier alternatives. The  carbonated drinks maker’s recent partnership with fitness and nutrition expert Jillian Michaels for its upcoming national infomercial reveals its relentless efforts in this field.

Sparkling water maker unit sales rose 35% in the last reported quarter as the compelling benefits of the company’s home carbonation system are resonating with an increasing number of consumers worldwide. Evidently, the company’s bottom line grew almost 73% year over year to 64 cents per share in the quarter. The significant upside underscores the benefits of its enhanced manufacturing business model accompanied by superior cost structure.

The strong performance is backed by the company’s robust earnings surprise history. The company surpassed estimates in each of the trailing four quarters, with a solid average beat of 103.93%.

Furthermore, SodaStream received two positive earnings estimate revisions for this quarter, next quarter, the current full-year, and its next fiscal year, all within the last 60 days, signaling analysts’ optimism on the stock. Michaels said: “SodaStream is a product I believe in, because I was able to cut out my own soda habit by switching to sparkling water. SodaStream provides one of the easiest ways for people to drink more water, and reduce their sugar intake from soda. It is also a great way to reduce environmental pollution from plastic bottles, helping me continue to do my part in caring for the health of the planet.”

Fitness expert Jillian Michaels has revealed the exercises you need to do to get a killer derriere.

In her latest video posted to Instagram, the celebrity trainer demonstrates how you can up your game when it comes to squatting.

The 43-year-old is often referred to as ‘America’s toughest trainer’ – and it’s clear to see why.

Jillian, who spent a decade whipping contestants on television weight-loss competition The Biggest Loser into shape, reveals how she gets a deep burn in her buttocks by holding onto a resistance band that has been wrapped around a bar above her head.

Jillian squats down low, jumps back up, then squats down low again – on one leg – then repeats using the other leg.

Then you see Jillian standing on a Bosu balance ball with one leg, where she bends down with a dumbbell to touch her toes before coming back up again.

Finally, the clip shows her barely breaking a sweat as she carries out push-ups with her adorable five-year-old son, Phoenix, on her back for extra resistance.

Jillian, who shares two children, including daughter Lukensia, seven, with partner Heidi Rhoades, wrote on the post’s caption: ‘Even when your squad is throwing off your game, you can still get your hustle on’.

Many of her 1.2million followers reacted with awe with one saying: ‘My legs burn just watching this!!’

Another wrote: ‘LOVE the pushups with your son. Think I’m passing on doing them with my 24-year-old daughter though.’

Other tips for a better butt

On her blog, Jillian previously shared tips for the secret to a better butt. She explains the gluteals are the largest and strongest muscles in the body.

‘I cannot overstate how important it is to make sure these muscles are getting their workout,’ she wrote. ‘Activities that engage this muscle group include walking, running, jumping, and climbing.

‘Lunges, leg lifts, and squats are all great for exercising the glutes.’ She explained how to correctly carry out her favorite squats…

The squat is a compound, full body exercise that trains primarily the muscles of the thighs, hips and buttocks

The squat is a compound, full body exercise that trains primarily the muscles of the thighs, hips and buttocks

The squat is a compound, full body exercise that trains primarily the muscles of the thighs, hips and buttocks

Traditional squat (good if you’re a newbie)

Stand with your feet hip-width apart, with your weight on your heels. Keep your abs tight and your shoulders squarely over your hips.

Sit back and down as if you were going to sit on a bench. Keep your back straight. Then stand up, straightening your legs, and repeat.

Sumo squat (good if you’re a little more advanced)

Place your feet as wide apart as you can and point your toes outward. Lower your body until your thighs are parallel to the floor.

Hold for a beat, then exhale and press back up to the starting position. Repeat.

This squat modification places a greater emphasis on the inner and outer thigh muscles.

One-leg squat (good if you’re a hard-core exerciser)

Stand with your weight balanced on your right leg. Lift your left foot an inch or so off the ground. Keep your head up, and don’t lean forward; abs stay tight, and the right heel stays on the ground.

Don’t let the knee extend over the toe. Slowly lower yourself as far as you can comfortably go.

Exhale and stand up straight, still balancing on the right leg. Continue for a full set on the right leg, then switch to the left leg and repeat.

This modification requires tremendous balance and allows you to strengthen each leg.

Jillian Michaels’ 12 hour rule for finding ‘You Time’

The quest for perfection can be all-encompassing, so it’s worth asking not only whether this success is achievable, but also whether it is worth it.

It is also worth noting that perfection is in the eye of the beholder, and one person’s perspective may be significantly different from the next person’s. It is impossible to please everybody all of the time.

At Thrive Global, fitness guru and wellness entrepreneur Jillian Michaels writes that one of the more common questions she gets asked is: “how do you do it all?”

“It’s true that I am a mum, a partner, a friend, a businesswoman, and my health is pretty solid, but it’s critical to mention that while I do it all, I certainly don’t do it perfectly,” Michaels writes.

Michaels points to her need to balance both her own priorities and those of her family, writing that while she is not doing it all perfectly “it seems to be good enough”.

“So, if there was one tip I could give on that balancing act, it would be appreciating that it’s okay to lose your balance,” she writes.

Dismissing the idea of perfection, there is, Michaels writes, “such a thing as good enough”.

The 12-hour rule

Michaels points to “mummy martyr mentality”, stressing the necessity of putting children first until they are old and capable enough to take care of themselves, but noting that it is not a case of all or nothing.

“Remember, you are your kids’ primary role model and caretaker,” she writes. “If you are not healthy and happy, ultimately it will stress them out and take its toll.”

Michaels shares “a golden rule that is malleable enough to work for almost everyone”.

“I call it the 12-hour rule,” she writes. “Put simply, find 12 hours in a week of you time. This is enough for four half-hour workouts in your living room or on the go. It’s enough to squeeze in the necessary doctor’s appointments or beauty appointments over the course of a month. It allows you to have a date night and/or a night out with friends.

“Again, it’s not ideal, but it’s enough to help you maintain your health and the health of your family, as well as everyone’s sanity.”

Of the 168 hours in a week, Michaels apportions 112 as waking hours – noting that taking 12 hours still leaves “100 hours to split between work, family and chores”.

She notes it won’t be perfect and that compromises will need to be made.

“Ultimately, I avoid looking at my day in a vacuum and rather look at my week,” she writes. “How can I balance my schedule to make sure I workout four times, grocery shop, get that check-up at my doctor’s office, etc.

“I spread these events out over the week, and I know that 12 hours a week over the course of a month is ‘good enough.’”
