In 2014, he took over Jason Statham’s role in The Transporter: Refueled, earning praise despite the film’s poor reception. Skrein played Ajax in the 2016 hit Deadpool. He appeared in Ocean Wisdom’s ‘Eye Contact’ music video in 2017 as the villain.

In 2018, he starred in In Darkness alongside Natalie Dormer and Stacy Martin. Initially set to play Ben Daimio in the Hellboy reboot, he withdrew from the role due to casting controversy. Skrein featured in Roland Emmerich’s 2019 blockbuster Midway alongside a cast of other co-stars that include Woody Harrelson,  Mandy Moore, Dennis Quaid,  Patrick Wilson, Nick Jonas, Luke Evans, and Aaron Eckhart. In 2022, he played Vince in I Used to Be Famous, receiving a mixed review from Leslie Felperin in The Guardian, who called it a “sweet-natured but predictable comedy drama” and rated it 3/5 stars. He wrote directed, and released the 2020 Little River Run a short drama film through his instagram account.
