Celebrity Acts at Disney Grad Night

Disney Grad Night began in 1961 as a celebration for high schoolers to celebrate their graduation at Disneyland. Disney now holds the celebration at Disney World allowing other high school seniors to celebrate their graduation with live music and other fun activities. Grad Nite is well know for the talented musicians that puts on special shows for the celebrating graduates. This amazing event has featured a number of different performers including notable names like: Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Destiny’s Child and the Backstreet Boys.

During the last three years, the celebrations at Disney Grad Nite have featured quite a few notable perfomances. In 2006, there were some major performers on board for Disney Grad Nite, such as:Omarion, Fall Out Boy, Simple Plane, Frankie J, Teddy Geiger, and Fefe Dobson. Cassie, Mario Vazques, Cartel and The Fray celebrated with the seniors two years ago. The feature talent in 2008 was Ne-Yo, famous for the songs “Closer” and “Miss Independent.” In addtion to Ne-Yo the 2008 celebration also feature The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Cheskob, and The Last Goodnight.. A new precedent for entertainment was set in 2009 when the even was hosted by a celebrity. The whole night was hosted by Hayden Panettiere establishing a new era for entertainment and celebrity cameos. Hayden wasn’t the only celebrity to make a surprise appearance. Jaslene Gonzalezfrom America’s Next Top Model, and Paula and Ryan from MTV’s The Dual 2 also dropped in on the event. In addtion to the celebrity guest appearances, Grad Nite also featured their traditional music acts including: Katy Perry, Lloyd, Metro Station, Mishon, The White Tie Affair, Lesley Roy, and Wynter!

This celebration always features the hottest recording artists of the year making it an unforgetable event.. Famous artists and surpise celebrity appearances make every celebration unique, and begs the question of who will appear this year? Expect the best and the most popular singers popular on seniors ipods. Taylor Swift has been all over the radio waves, same goes for the Black Eyed Peas. Grad Nite often delivers the person of the moment so the featured acts may not have even been discovered yet! Will we see an established group, like Kings of Leon currently famous for the hit “Use Somebody?”. Kelly Clarkson, would be a possible performer as well since she has recently released her new CD, All I Ever Wanted. Since she was voted by America to be the American Idol of 2002, she has been tearing up the charts and could be a front-runner to be a performer at Disney’s Grad Nite. Only time will tell of course, but seniors no matter the performers, get ready to get your groove on!
