STEPHEN Bear did a runner while on a date for the second series of Celebs Go Dating, insisting he had to go because he had a “chicken in the oven”.
Clearly romance hadn’t been blossoming for the former Celebrity Big Brother winner and after telling his date he was off to the toilet, Bear decided to check out early and ditched the date completely.
A source told The Sun: “Bear walked out of his date last week during filming for Celebs Go Dating.
“He ran off halfway through and claimed to the girl that he was going to the toilets, but in actual fact, he was never coming back.”
They added: “[Bear] told the producers and runners to tell the poor girl that he had to go because he ‘had a chicken in the oven’… the production team weren’t best pleased as they had to let the girl down.”
A spokesperson for Bear seemed to relay the same story when asked about the claims and said: “Bear has been taught by his mum Linda that dangerous hazards in the kitchen are everywhere, especially leaving the oven on too long.”
Bear is rumoured to be joined by Kim Kardashian’s BFF Jonathan Cheban on the show, long with former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton and Diversity star Perri Kiely.
Stephen Bear and Charlotte Crosby fuel dating rumours when they look cosy during a pre-New Year party at the Electric Ballroom in London
Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann has also been linked to Celeb Go Dating’s new series.
E4 confirmed the return of the dating show in November last year. Celebs Go Dating’s official Twitter account broke the news, tweeting: “We are pleased to announce that Celebs Go Dating will be back on @E4Tweets in 2017, with not just one series but 2!! #LetsGetDating.”
A spokesperson for the show added to Daily Star: “Following the huge success of the first series, E4, is delighted to bring Celebs Go Dating back to our screens for a longer run to find true love for those famous faces most in need of our helping hand.”
It sees celebrities head out on dates with ordinary members of the public in the hope to find love. Stephanie Pratt and Joey Essex ended up getting together on the first series of Celebs Go Dating, but split a month after filming wrapped.
They starred alongside Tattoo Fixers’ Paisley Billings, Outnumbered star Tyger Drew Honey and Bear’s new co-host Charlotte Crosby – maybe she can give him a few tips.
Bear and Charlotte will present MTV’s new reality show Just Tattoo Of Us. The pair filmed for the show’s debut series before Christmas and had sparked rumours that they were dating.
Charlotte, meanwhile, has since shut down claims that she and Bear are romantically linked and insisted they are just “good friends”.
Bear had also been rumoured to appear on the current series of Celebrity Big Brother, after winning the show in August 2016.
He, however, denied he would be entering the house in December – just weeks before the All Stars vs New Stars series launched. Bear tweeted: “I can officially say I’m not doing CBB in Jan. I wasn’t cool enough.”
Bear has been tuning into the new series, though, and appeared to slate its host Emma Willis. He joked to his 223,000 followers: “I see @EmmaWillis is back. Let’s hope she’s kinder to the winner this year. Took me 3 months of rehab to get over it.”
Vicky Pattison’s ex-boyfriend has also shared his thoughts on who he wants to win this series. Bear is backing Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag to take the title.
Following Spencer’s attempts to wind up Jamie O’Hara over a potential in-house romance with Jasmine Waltz, Bear tweeted: “Spencer to win! Jamie’s biting. Can’t wait to see how this pans out.”
He added a series of crying laughter emojis.
Speidi have since been nominated for this series’ first eviction. They are up alongside actor James Cosmo, Ray J, Stacy Francis, Austin Armacost and Angie Best.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
